Bio
Lauren first joined Green City Market as a Lincoln Park Market Manager for the 2022 outdoor season. Lauren found their passion for environmental sustainability and equitable food access to the various organizations, sustainability initiatives, and courses taken through their collegiate career while getting their degree in Global Managerial Economics in California.
Prior to joining GCM’s team Lauren worked and volunteered with various organizations that worked towards sustainability, native ecosystems restoration and preservation, and equitable fresh food distribution across the country. As a child they grew up helping their grandmother with her personal garden as well as the community garden she ran for the neighborhood, harvesting the plants they grew together and cooking meals for family and the neighborhood with the garden's fresh vegetables and herbs.
These days Lauren enjoys growing fruits, vegetables, and all sorts of plants in their home garden and learning about all things sustainable and equitable food production across the country and the world and loves traveling to new places and learning about local farm to table systems.
